A conference titled "Opportunities for Russian Business in Dubai: Presentation of Dubai CommerCity" was held at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry

On September 26, 2025, a significant event for Russian companies interested in entering international markets took place in St. Petersburg. The conference was organized by a partner of the VII IMBRICS Forum – the company "INKONA," which specializes in business consulting in the Middle East, with the support of the Dubai CommerCity (DCC) economic zone. The event was opened by Vladimir Katenyov, President of the St. Petersburg Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and Abdulrahman Shahin, Senior Vice President of Dubai CommerCity.

The conference aimed to provide the St. Petersburg and Russian business communities with a comprehensive overview of current opportunities in the United Arab Emirates and practical tools for a successful entry into the Middle Eastern market. Key discussion topics included practical aspects of business registration and management, current opportunities for Russian companies in the fields of import and export, finding reliable partners among state and private structures in the region, as well as real success stories of Russian companies that have already mastered the UAE market.

The business program of the conference was designed to provide participants with the most complete and structured information. During the conference, Mikhail Sverdlov, Deputy Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the VII IMBRICS Forum, held a meeting with representatives from the Arabian Peninsula and invited them to participate in the VII International Municipal BRICS Forum, which will be held in St. Petersburg on November 20-21.

"The conference became a pivotal point for us to seriously explore opportunities for the development of Russian business in the UAE. The information was very useful for owners and top managers of companies in IT, e-commerce, logistics, and services who are considering going international. It is an effective investment of time, allowing one to get a structured picture and direct contacts for further work in just a few hours. I hope this meeting will help more Russian companies to develop in the field of international trade," said Mikhail Sverdlov. Following the conference, Mikhail Sverdlov held a working meeting with the representatives of the St. Petersburg Chamber of Commerce and Industry. They discussed the traditional participation of the Chamber in the VII IMBRICS Forum, as well as key aspects of organizing a future session within the November Forum, proposed discussion topics, and potential speakers. The parties expressed their readiness for further cooperation and agreed to work out the details of the Chamber's participation format in the VII IMBRICS Forum in the near future.
