Exhibition "Blue on Blue" at the XI St. Petersburg International Forum of United Cultures
In St. Petersburg, as part of the XI International Forum of United Cultures, the opening of the "Blue on Blue" art exhibition took place. The event was held in the foyer of the Capella Concert Hall and became one of the key program highlights, bringing together in person representatives of cultural institutions from various states, diplomats, masters from Russia and abroad, as well as public and expert organizations, which confirmed the international character of the event.
A distinctive feature of the exhibition was the participation of decorative and applied arts practitioners from a number of countries. Among the guests were representatives from the city of Deruta, Italy – a world center of traditional ceramic production. Italian artists created a collection of hand-painted items in a blue color scheme, thereby expressing respect for the stylistic and centuries-old traditions of Gzhel art. The project was previously successfully presented at the "Russian House" in Rome, where it received positive feedback from viewers and specialists in the field.
At the event venue, Mikhail Cherepanov held a series of meetings with representatives of the leadership of international cultural community organizations who attended the event. The parties discussed prospects for further cooperation. Particular attention was paid to the development of cultural exchange between organizations in Russia and foreign countries, the promotion of national artistic traditions, and the creation of new joint initiatives aimed at strengthening international dialogue. The Chairman of the Organizing Committee also invited colleagues to organize and participate directly in the VII International Municipal BRICS Forum, which will be held on November 20-21 in St. Petersburg.
In his welcoming speech, Yevgeny Primakov, Head of Rossotrudnichestvo, noted the importance of such initiatives for strengthening humanitarian ties and creating a platform for systematic cultural exchange between countries. The participation of foreign masters who arrived in person to exhibit their works was highlighted as an important signal of commitment to practical interstate cooperation in the humanitarian sphere.
Among the honored guests was the famous St. Petersburg artist Anna Soboleva, who emphasized the importance of integrating artistic initiatives into international humanitarian projects. Anna specifically noted that contemporary art can become a universal language for dialogue between cultures and civilizations.
The participation of Russian representatives in the event was an important step in expanding cultural interaction and confirmed the growing role of St. Petersburg as one of the traditional leading centers of international cultural cooperation.
In his comment, Mikhail Cherepanov, Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the VII International Municipal BRICS Forum, stated: "The exhibition demonstrates that culture and art are a universal language of international communication. Such projects create a foundation of trust and mutual understanding between countries and serve as an example of how cultural heritage can strengthen cooperation on humanitarian grounds, especially within BRICS."
