Reception at the Embassy of Brazil on the Occasion of the Country's Participation in the World Food Moscow 2025 Exhibition

On September 17, 2025, a formal reception was held at the residence of H.E. Mr. Sergio Rodrigues dos Santos, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Brazil to Moscow, to mark the participation of the Brazilian Federation in the major international food exhibition World Food Moscow 2025. The event brought together official representatives of the two countries, government officials, political figures, and key market participants.

In his welcoming address, the Ambassador expressed gratitude for the demonstrated interest in cooperation with the Brazilian agro-industrial sector and emphasized the strategic nature of bilateral relations, confirming Brazil's readiness for their further dynamic development.

The diplomat paid special attention to trade and economic interaction. According to him, Russia is one of the key reliable partner countries for integration projects aimed at strengthening intercontinental ties and forming a fair world order. The economies of the two countries are complementary in nature. Mr. dos Santos noted the significant volumes of Brazilian agricultural products supplied to the Russian market and highlighted the crucial importance of importing Russian fertilizers for the efficiency of Brazilian agribusiness.

During a conversation with the Ambassador, Mikhail Cherepanov, Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the VII International Municipal BRICS Forum, invited Mr. Sergio Rodrigues dos Santos to participate in the upcoming November Forum and to deliver a welcoming address at the plenary session, which will be held on November 21 in St. Petersburg. For his part, Mikhail Cherepanov noted that Brazil's chairmanship of the intergovernmental association has contributed to the promotion of initiatives in the field of forming a new financial policy and overcoming a number of restrictions in business cooperation.

"During today's reception, we discussed the possibility of summarizing the results of Brazil's chairmanship in 2025 within the framework of the upcoming plenary session of the VII International Municipal BRICS Forum, which will bring together about 1,200 participants. A substantive report by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Brazil will be an important part of the session's program. I highly appreciate Mr. dos Santos' willingness to consider participating in the event and confirming interest in further interaction with the Organizing Committee on issues of multilateral cooperation aimed at strengthening ties between Brazil, Russia, and other BRICS states. Russia and Brazil are consistent advocates for strengthening a multipolar world order and developing economic partnership," commented Mikhail Cherepanov.
